Function
ETS01 is a universal galvanically isolated Ethernet-to-RS485 converter that enables protocol conversion from Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU over TCP, and MQTT to RS485 Modbus RTU. Configuration is performed through an intuitive web-based interface.
The converter supports MQTT communication, allowing remote access from anywhere without the need to create a VPN network. It also provides a simple way to integrate RS485 devices into IoT applications.
The converter supports four operating modes:
Ethernet Server – RS485 Master
In this mode, the converter supports up to 10 clients connected via Modbus TCP and up to 10 clients connected via Modbus RTU over TCP simultaneously. Messages received from the individual interfaces are processed sequentially in the order they are received and then transmitted to the RS485 interface.
Ethernet Client – RS485 Slave
The converter can also operate in the opposite direction. In this mode, an RS485 master is connected to the RS485 bus, while the converter acts as an Ethernet client and connects to one or more Ethernet servers.
RS485 Expander
In RS485 Expander mode, the converter extends an RS485 communication line over an Ethernet network. This is an ideal solution for devices equipped only with an RS485 interface that are located far apart but have Ethernet connectivity available nearby.
HAN (DLMS/COSEM)
In HAN mode, the converter receives data from a smart meter via the HAN interface, converts the data into JSON format, and publishes it to an MQTT broker.
